Das Wort kombat oder combat existiert in verschiedenen Weisen und seinen Abwandlungen in vielen Sprachen der Welt. Im Russischen bezeichnet der Begriff Kombat eine Person mit einer bestimmten Aufgabe innerhalb der Armee. Der Kombat ist jener Mensch, der zunächst mit den anderen in Deckung liegend, als erster hervorspringt und »Kombat!« rufend voran stürmt. Er nimmt die Angst, die er wie alle anderen empfindet, auf sich, eilt mutig und entschlossen voraus, und zerbricht damit die Angst, wodurch der Weg auch für die anderen frei wird. Der Kombat ist ein Krieger des Geistes, der die Angst besiegt und handelt.
